As Fr. Michael has pointed out, we are faced with a challenge to “not only reflect on, but to LIVE what the Catechism speaks of in doing the works of mercy.” And so we ask ourselves: how do we extend God’s compassion and mercy to those in need? How do we live mercifully during this Jubilee Year? A good starting point for both reflecting on and living mercy during the Jubilee Year and going forward is the USCCB Department of Justice, Peace and Human Development’s handout on the very subject: Living Mercy in the Jubilee Year of Mercy.
