Baptismal Preparation

Baptismal Preparation for Children (birth to 6 years of age)
“Unless a man is reborn in water and the Holy Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
John 3:5
The church has always understood these words to mean that children should not be deprived of baptism, because they are baptized in the faith of the Church, a faith proclaimed for them by their parents and godparents, who represent both the local Church and the whole society of saints and believers
#2, Rite of Baptism For Children
Baptismal Preparation classes are offered monthly. Generally held on the second and third Sunday of each month, the preparation sessions offer parents and godparent(s) the opportunity to revisit the teachings of the Church on the Sacred Mysteries in general, Baptism, in particular and receive guides to Christian parenting.
Parents should contact the parish office in the third trimester of the pregnancy to register for baptismal preparation. Godparents are invited and urged to accompany the parents to these sessions.
After the successful completion of both sessions the date for the celebration of Baptism may be scheduled. These celebrations take place at 3:30 pm in English on the first Sunday of the month and, in Spanish, on the fourth Sunday of the month, unless otherwise noted.
