Mentoring Program | Spring Branch ISD

Our award-winning mentoring program, over 600 mentors strong and growing, serves students on over twenty-nine campuses across our school district. The program, beginning its tenth year, brings caring adult role models into our schools to spend 30 – 45 minutes once a week as a role model, confidant, advocate and friend to a student “on the brink of success.”

We ask mentors to commit to a school year timeframe, and over 90% of our mentors return to our program each year, following their student as they grow through the grade levels. Students self-select for the program, and parents grant permission for them to participate. Targeted students are those in need of extra support to help them become self-reliant, self-confident youngsters. Our data indicates that 95% of students with a mentor see themselves as more focused on school and they are more happy, well adjusted and skilled socially and emotionally.

St. John Vianney partners with two of the SBISD campuses: Nottingham Elementary and Northbrook Middle School.
