G.K. Chesterton, the Evangelist
Catholicism: The Pivotal Players Series
Chesterton, born in 1847, baptized in the Anglican Church, was brought into communion with the Catholic Church in 1922. He lectured extensively in the US and elsewhere taking on the arguments of modernity against Catholicism. Chesterton was a physically large man with a very large intellect and imagination to match his appearance. He is considered one of the great thinkers of the 20th century. “He embodied the wealth and capaciousness of Catholicism; was like fine champagne: intoxicating, sparkling, and rare.” Chesterton is also the author of the popular series of mystery fiction: The Father Brown Stories.
