How the Carol Came to Sing
You’ve sung them while holding cups of hot chocolate, cozying up around a fire, or perhaps stomping through snow. You’ve heard them sung in Churches, on the radio, in shopping malls, and at Christmas parties. You may even know all their words by heart. But do you know how some of the most popular Christmas carols were created?
Presented by Kirk Rich, Associate Director of Music and Organist for St. John Vianney parish. He received a Bachelor of Music Degree from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music in Ohio and earned his Master of Music Degree from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. Currently, Kirk is completing his doctorate at the University of Houston Moores School of Music. His wife, Laura, is a college counselor at St. Agnes Academy in Houston.
Also presented by Clayton Roberts, Associate Director of Music and Principal Organist for St. John Vianney parish. He continues to develop his musical interests in harpsichord, choral conducting, and composition. Clayton has designed the new pipe organ for St. John Vianney’s Church and oversees its construction.
