Note #4 from Fr. Troy

The SJV campus and offices remain closed.  Major work is being done on our campus by  CenterPoint Energy which has located an Emergency Mobile Substation on our property.  This is to assist in restoring electric power to thousands of area homes.  As the work is hazardous and there are many workers and  vehicles on campus, it is for safety reasons that the campus remains closed.  Once we have received word from CenterPoint Energy that it is safe to open we will.   We anticipate this will occur in the next several days.

Traffic and mobility in the area remain very difficult.  Memorial Drive is closed due to flooding to the immediate west of Nottingham Oaks Trail and to the east of Beltway 8.  Dairy Ashford, Kirkwood and Wilcrest south of I-10 are closed at Memorial Drive and north of Briar Forest. Dairy Ashford north of I-10 is closed.  I-10 West feeder road is closed at Dairy Ashford.  Eldridge remains closed. All of the neighborhoods south of Memorial Drive are restricted to residents and most have flooding.  There is no crossing Buffalo Bayou.  For more information please check with Houston Transtar.

To assist in relief efforts and for assistance please check with Catholic Charities and the Archdiocese of Galveston.
