SJV Organist featured on Public Radio

Kirk Rich, Associate Director of Music at St. John Vianney, will be featured this week on American Public Media’s “Pipedreams,” the only nationally distributed weekly radio program dedicated to the pipe organ and its music. This week’s program is entitled “Rising Stars” and features competitors from last summer’s National Young Artists Competition in Organ Performance, which took place at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Houston during the national convention of the American Guild of Organists. Kirk, who garnered Second Prize, opens the program with two selections from his recital for the final round of the competition. The show’s host was thoughtful enough to recognize Kirk’s position at St. John Vianney in his remarks.
For those interested in tuning in, the program will broadcast this Sunday, June 25, on KUHA-FM 91.7 at 6:00 AM. The program can be accessed online anytime at pipedreams.publicradio.org.
