Meet Ryan McDonnell

How long have you been a member of St John Vianney Catholic Church?
24 years.

What is your family’s background? Where are you from originally?
My parents are from the Detroit, Michigan area. I’m from Houston originally.

How do you live your Catholic Faith?
I try to outwardly reflect the teachings of the Church.

How has your involvement at the Parish impacted/changed your life?
I’ve been able to meet a lot of great faces and attend mass at one of the nicest parishes I know.

How do you make a difference? What programs or activities are/were you involved in?
I participate in the Habitat for Humanity program through SJV as a volunteer and as the SJV HFH volunteer coordinator.

What is special about SJV? Do you have a special memory/anecdote you would like to share?
I’ve grown up my whole life in going to SJV, played soccer and basketball for SJV as a kid, all of my Catholic formation participated in mass as an alter server, etc. The whole experience has been great.

What do you tell your friends & family about SJV?
Mostly good things. But really I tell them what a nice parish SJV is inside and out.

What would you say to someone new who wants to get more involved in the church?
Probably to look in the bulletin, or if I knew some of their interests I would tell them of specific organizations within our church geared towards those interests.
