The St. Monica’s Society was formed as a support group for mothers just like you. The purpose of this society is to welcome families with school-age children (elementary through college) into the parish, provide an opportunity for families to gather for social, educational and spiritual growth while supporting the community around us.
“The Lord is near. Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving make your request known to God.” ~ Philippians 4:6
We understand the busy life of a mom with school-age children and we know your time is precious. Come as you can and join in when you are ready.
Below are short descriptions of some of our activities and programs:
St. Monica’s Society meets monthly at the Church on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 11:30-1pm. Each of our meetings provides an opportunity to socialize with friends and learn from a speaker about a topic that is relevant to our group. We hope to see you soon!
Girl’s Night Out:
One evening a month we have a Girls’ Night Out. It’s a great way to socialize with the members of St. Monica’s while having an evening out of the house.
St. Monica’s members participate in bible studies directly through the Parish, or in partnership with our sister society, St. Anne’s.
Meals for Moms:
St. Monica’s members are eligible to receive meals for their family in times of need and support.
Several times a year, we gather for social activities with the husbands and wives of our group. It’s always a great night out and a fun opportunity to socialize with the members and their spouses.
One day a month we get together for a breakfast at a local restaurant. It’s nice to drop the kids at school and then have a good breakfast that you don’t have to cook or clean. Younger kids are welcome if they are not in school yet.
Our Book Club meets quarterly. Come enjoy a fun, relaxing evening with good friends.
Church Bazaar and Auction:
Members of St. Monica’s assist the parish with activities at the Church Bazaar and Auction.
Throughout the year, the parish calls on St. Monica’s members for assistance with various activities. These activities include providing food and helping serve at funeral receptions, bringing desserts for various Parish dinners and other Parish activities as needed.
