"The church has always understood these words to mean that children should not be deprived of baptism, because they are baptized in the faith of the Church, a faith proclaimed for them by their parents and godparents, who represent both the local Church and the whole society of saints and believers."
Baptism Preparation classes offer parents and godparent(s) the opportunity to revisit the Church’s teachings on the Sacred Mysteries in general, Baptism in particular, and to receive guidance on Christian parenting.
Parents may contact the Parish Office at any point during pregnancy or after to register for baptismal preparation. Godparents are also encouraged to attend baptismal preparation sessions either with the parents or in their home parish. If preparation classes are taken elsewhere a certificate or letter of completion must be presented. After the successful completion of both sessions the date for the celebration of Baptism may be scheduled.
