Pentecost Vespers

This past Saturday, May 19, in anticipation of one of the Church’s most solemn feasts, First Vespers of Pentecost was served in the chapel at 7:15 pm. The liturgy was sung by the parish Vesper Choir and the St. Gregory Schola Cantorum, St. John Vianney’s advanced youth choir, both under the direction of Associate Director of Music and Organist Kirk M. Rich. The St. John Vianney choirs were joined by the Schola Cantorum of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, under the direction of Dr. Douglas O’Neill. The newly ordained transitional deacon, Mr. Ricardo (“Rick”) Arriola, served as officiant with the assistance of Mr. David Ramirez, both seminarians from our parish for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. The beautiful liturgy was the perfect end to a successful choir season.
