Assistance Ministries

SJV Assistance Ministries

We have a NEW perspective to our Christ-Centered Approach.

We no longer provide Emergency Services.

What does this mean? Rather than a band-aid fix that doesn’t allow for long term stability, we now focus on:

Empowering financially vulnerable pregnant and parenting women and families through strengthening their faith and helping them build skills, find jobs, learn English, and manage their finances so they can foster stable lives and thrive independently.

SJV Assistance Ministries provide:

  • Resources
  • Guidance
  • Empowerment
  • Accompaniment

This support is not available to the general public.

These resources are allocated for:

  • Vulnerable families within our physical parish boundaries that are willing to work with us and develop a plan to attain stability.
  • Individuals and families who are actively enrolled in other Social Services ministries, such as Walking with Moms in Need, the Gabriel Project, and others that require long-term engagement.

Why? Because SJV Assistance Ministries is not an emergency relief agency. We are a ministry that focuses on long-term empowerment:

At SJV Assistance Ministries, or goal is to form relationships and partnerships with hard-working Houstonians willing to build stable lives and hope-filled futures. We walk alongside families on their journey to stability and independence.
