As a community, we are called to love and serve one another. Let us pray that the Lord may give us the strength and the grace to ask for assistance and care when in need.

Our Social Services’ Assistance Ministries hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 9:00 am – 12 Noon, by appointment, at the Social Services Building. For directions, general information or to schedule an appointment, please call us at 281.497.4434.

Areas Served:

Our services are limited to those who live in zip code areas: 77077 and 77079. Please call us for information and to refer you for assistance if you reside in a different area.

Services Offered:

The following is a list of the major types of assistance routinely provided:

  • Utility assistance for electricity, gas or water in zip codes 77077 and 77079.
  • Referrals to MAM for rental assistance (to qualifying residents of 77077), employment program and other referrals.
  • Hope Bags (filled with food and supplies) for the homeless.
  • Assistance from Joseph’s Coat and our Pantry to qualifying Assistance Ministries clients.
  • Application assistance for public benefits.
  • Transportation assistance: Bus passes.
  • The Gabriel Project: Accompaniment, spiritual and emotional support for expectant mothers in crisis. Practical and material assistance with ‘in kind’ items for expectant or new mothers enrolled in the Gabriel Project.
  • Individual, Marriage, and Family counseling through Catholic Charities (Tuesdays & Thursdays at our location). For information, call 713.791.2496.
  • English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes: Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The academic year goes from September through May.
  • Résumé assistance through our Employment Ministry.
